Manuscript 1994 is an artist's book composed of a non-narrative visual text and my poem both of which are reflections on my identity. The installation is like an open book. It consists of four parts:

1. 51 plates forming units of threes and ones. Units function as words placed at specific intervals. They form four sentences creating a non-narrative text

2. a portfolio-box, the case for the plates, lie open on an aluminum platform under glass

3. my poem, in English and Turkish, on separate vellum scrolls suspended from the ceiling to the floor

4. a set of B/W laser color copies of the original plates. Their numbers are changeable and their exhibit is optional
